The CubiScan 1200-AKL is a static dimension scanning device that can work in conjunction with; a heavy-capacity floor scale, a forklift equipped with an onboard scale, or in a stand-alone position (pictured) when weight is not required. Its overhead-mounted sensor configuration provides a comprehensive view of the freight measurement area and forklift access from any direction.
Ceiling Mounted Version
In most cases, it can be ceiling-mounted—providing Omnidirectional access for the user and collision-avoidance protection for the equipment while keeping floor space open. The powerful and accurate sensors measure freight in any orientation and virtually any shape, colour, or package material.
Notable Features
With a panel-mounted controller, touch-screen monitor, and integrated data collection and interface software, the CubiScan 1200-AKL is very user-friendly and can process multi-piece shipments, initiate parcel-tracking tasks, enter customer-defined shipment information, and communicate bi-directionally with the customer’s data processing system. The 1200 can be programmed to work with a wide variety of floor and forklift scales, as well as digital display units. Barcode scanning and printing devices can also be integrated to create a turnkey dimensioning, weighing, and tracking workstation.
The new Measurement Canada approval covers irregular and regular items, and extended measurement ranges up to 17’ wide.
Dual-zone option - certified as 'Legal for Trade' - Provides the ability to expand production throughput considerably.

Class 1 Infrared Laser Technology
The 1200 utilizes advanced Class 1 infrared laser sensing technology that is safe for operators and freight (in accordance with DIN EN 60825-1 usage regulations). Two laser scanners are fixed to parallel guides that pass over the freight. The system scans an area and measures freight without special illumination or contact.
A standard unit has a capacity of 8 feet by 8 feet on base and 9 feet in height. Larger customized versions, multi-zone (see below) and multi-lane versions, pallet conveyor versions and contour-checking versions for automated storage and retrieval applications and loading of transport vehicles/airplanes are possible and can be quoted accordingly.
